Prime Minister Modi had a meeting between the Chief Ministers on Monday on the Kovid vaccination campaign. Meanwhile, Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy demanded that MPs and MLAs should be given the Kovid-19 vaccine on a priority basis. MPs and MLAs are also at the forefront in dealing with the virus and they are to interact with the people of their constituencies.

Prime Minister Modi has previously rejected the proposal to vaccinate MLAs and MPs. Modi clarified that in the first phase three crore health workers and front line workers will be given the vaccine. The central government will bear all the expenses in this phase. In the second phase, people above 50 years and suffering from serious diseases will be added to it. Their number will be 27 crores. The Prime Minister said that by the end of the first phase we will have many more vaccines. We will consider them again.
