महाशय ’धर्मपाल गुलाटी, प्रतिष्ठित मसाला ब्रांड MDH के मालिक, का गुरुवार को 98 वर्ष की आयु में निधन हो गया। रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, गुलाटी ने कार्डियक अरेस्ट से पीड़ित होने के बाद दिल्ली के माता चानन देवी अस्पताल में अंतिम सांस ली। उनका पिछले तीन हफ्तों से अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा था।
धर्मपाल गुलाटी एक प्रसिद्ध व्यक्ति थे और उन्हें ‘दादाजी’ और ‘महाशयजी’ के नाम से जाना जाता था। उनका जन्म 1923 में पाकिस्तान के सियालकोट में हुआ था। हालांकि, बाद में वह विभाजन के बाद भारत चले गए। वह दिल्ली जाने से पहले अमृतसर के एक शरणार्थी शिविर में रहे।

हम में से कई लोग MDH Masala के विभिन्न विज्ञापनों में उस आइकॉनिक जिंगल “अस्ली मसाले सच सच” के साथ अपने मुस्कुराते हुए चेहरे को याद कर सकते हैं। रक्षा मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह ने ’महाशय’ गुलाटी की मौत पर शोक व्यक्त करने के लिए ट्विटर पर लिया और याद किया कि कैसे उन्होंने देश में अपनी पहचान बनाई। “मैं भारत के सबसे सम्मानित व्यापारियों में से एक, ‘महाशय’ धर्मपाल के निधन से दुखी हूं। उन्होंने अपना छोटा व्यवसाय शुरू किया और खुद की छाप छोड़ी। वे सामाजिक कार्यों में बहुत सक्रिय थे और अंतिम क्षण तक सक्रिय रहे। मैं उनके परिवार के प्रति संवेदना व्यक्त करता हूं।
” दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने भी एमडीएच मालिक के निधन पर शोक व्यक्त किया। “धर्म पाल जी बहुत ही प्रेरणादायक व्यक्तित्व थे। उन्होंने अपना जीवन समाज के लिए समर्पित कर दिया। भगवान उनकी आत्मा को शांति दे, ”उन्होंने ट्वीट किया। उनके डिप्टी मनीष सिसोदिया ने कहा, “भारत के सबसे प्रेरणादायक उद्यमी, MDH के मालिक धर्म पाल महाशय का आज सुबह निधन हो गया। मैं ऐसी प्रेरक और जीवंत आत्मा से कभी नहीं मिला। उनकी आत्मा को शांति मिले।”
Monsieur ‘Dharampal Gulati, owner of the iconic spice brand MDH, died on Thursday at the age of 98. According to reports, Gulati breathed his last at Delhi’s Mata Chanan Devi Hospital after suffering from cardiac arrest. He was undergoing treatment at the hospital for the last three weeks.
Dharmapala Gulati was a famous person and was known as ‘Dadaji’ and ‘Mahashaji’. He was born in 1923 in Sialkot, Pakistan. However, he later moved to India after partition. He stayed in a refugee camp in Amritsar before moving to Delhi. He made a humble beginning by opening a spice shop in Karol Bagh, Delhi before building his empire. He founded MDH in 1959. The company made a mark not only in India but also abroad, including the UK, Europe, UAE, Canada.
Gulati was also awarded the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian award in 2019. Many of us can remember his smiling face with that iconic jingle “Asli Masala Sach Sach” in various commercials of MDH Masala. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh took to Twitter to mourn the death of ‘Mahasya’ Gulati and recalled how he made his mark in the country. “I am saddened by the demise of one of India’s most respected businessmen, ‘Mahasya’ Dharmapala. He started his own small business and made a mark of his own. He was very active in social work and remained active till the last moment.
My condolences to his family. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also mourned the demise of the MDH boss. “Dharm Pal ji was a very inspiring personality. He devoted his life to society. God rest his soul, ”he tweeted. His deputy Manish Sisodia said, “Dharm Pal Mahasya, owner of India’s most inspiring entrepreneur, MDH, passed away this morning.
I have never met such an inspiring and vibrant soul. may his soul rest in peace.” MDH was started at 1919, Sialkot, Pakistan.
